Camera and audio tests

Check that your camera, microphone, speakers and headphones work before a call, a stream or a recording.

Which test for which problem

  • Webcam Test – the picture is black, blurry or the wrong camera opens; also shows the resolution and frame rate you actually get.
  • Microphone Test – people on a call cannot hear you, or your voice sounds too quiet or distorted.
  • Speaker Test – there is no sound, or one speaker is louder than the other.
  • Headphone Test – you suspect one earbud is dead or the left and right channels are swapped.

How it works and a quick tip

Each test runs in your browser. Your camera and microphone are only used while the test is open, and no video or audio is uploaded or stored. The browser asks for permission first, and you can revoke it at any time in the site settings.

If a test shows nothing, check three things before anything else: the permission prompt was allowed, no other app (a meeting tool, for example) is holding the device, and the right input or output is selected in your system sound settings. Test with the cable or Bluetooth connection you will really use.
